The Crieff Succeeds BID vote is now only a few weeks away. The ballot will be open between 7th May and 5pm on 18th June. The outcome of the vote will be known the following day.
Should the Crieff business community elect to run with the BID a new BID Company will be established to deliver the Business Plan by 1st September. The existing Steering Group will manage the interim period and hand over the new board by the end of August.
A fully constituted board of up to twelve Directors will be established. The board will be drawn from the local business community and is open to every person that is due pay the levy. Two places are set aside on the board for PKC.
Alan Rankin, BID Project Leader said. “The door is wide open to get on the new BID board. The future success of the BID will depend on the manner and energy in which it is run by local business people.”
If more than ten names are put forward from the local business community a ballot will take place involving all the levy payers to elect the new board, so putting the business community in full control of the make-up of the new board.
The Board will be responsible for all decisions relating to staff, contracts and other activities generated by the Crieff Succeeds BID. The BID will also appoint a BID manager to deliver the business plan and meet targets.
The Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer of the BID Board will be elected from the business members on the Board. There will also be a non-voting member from Police Scotland. Other non-voting members may be co-opted onto the Board at the Board’s discretion.
