Crieff Business Improvement District organisers were delighted with the turnout of over 60 people at the BID Open meeting at the Crieff Hotel on Tuesday 25th November.

Alan Rankin Project leader said. “It was a great turnout outlining the interest now generated around the potential of the Crieff Succeeds Business Improvement District.”

The BID team reported on the findings of a business survey that took place in October along with their discussions with other BID areas in Scotland. The survey highlighted Crieff’s strengths and weaknesses and what local business owners wanted the BID to do.

Four priorities have been identified: Market Crieff – to attract more customers, Welcome Crieff – improve the way Crieff looks and Your Bottom Line – supporting business and local trade. The BID would also look to recruit a town Centre Manager and part-time Marketing Manager to ensure the activities were delivered on time and to plan.

The BID is looking to invest £730,000 on the key themes over a five year business plan. The money would be raised from a levy of the rateable value of business properties in the town along with support from Perth and Kinross Council and VisitScotland.
