BID, HOW IT WORKS

All businesses within the Crieff  BID levy area are required by law to pay an annual levy, based on the rateable value of their property. This levy is collected by Perth and Kinross Council and is due whether the business voted for BID or not.

The money raised by the payment of the levy is placed into a ‘communal pot’. This ‘pot’ of money is then managed by the BID Board and is spent on activities to raise the profile of Crieff, improve it’s overall appearance, encourage residents to shop locally, increase tourist numbers and footfall to the town etc, as set out in the BID Business Plan. It also pays the salary of one full time manager and one part time marketing executive (20 hours a week). Full expenditure can be viewed in the Annual Reports section.

All up to date levy payers can apply for a Business Improvement Grant to help fund a range of improvements for their business, for example, improvements to their property, increasing online presence and for staff training. Click here for more details.
